Protocols to arrange prayer teams at mission endeavors, first in English, then Spanish. A printer friendly version follows.

Prayer Protocols

For Logistic Personnel

1. When going to churches, or sites of set-up for the outreach, make contact with the pastor, missionary or leader, and ask them where the prayer team is.  
2. If they do not have one, let them know that we are not there to do humanitarian relief, but to spread the gospel, and to grow the Church, and lead people to Christ.
3. If they indicate who the prayer people are, let them know that you will need them in a central location, preferably a group of 5-6 chair set up in semi-circles.
   • This chair grouping allows for families to be prayed for.
   • If several families come, a prayer person should break off and form another area or group chairs to accommodate the other family or person for prayer.
   • If they pray to receive Christ, they must be introduced to the pastor, or someone else in their area for follow-up and discipleship.
4. Please instruct the prayer team NOT TO WANDER OFF. This can create a problem when no one is present to pray with people.
5. Inform the doctors where the prayer team is.
6. Lastly, have someone fluent in Spanish waiting for the doctor and eye glass personnel to be done with the patient, and lead them to the prayer station. (Give them the flyer God has a Question).
7. Have regular eye contact with the translators, doctors, and prayer team, and people leading patients to prayer to see if something is needed. Think of yourself as a logistics person making sure everyone is offered prayer, and experiencing the Love of God.

Prayer Considerations

1. Ask people if there is something that you could pray for
2. Ask if they:
   • Ever asked Jesus to come into their life and forgive them (cleanse them) of their sins.
   • If they say yes to the above, ask if they go to church or used to go to church and what church.
   • If they say they are Catholic, for example, and not sure where they are spiritually, speak to them in Catholic terms and ask would like to ask Jesus, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world, to take away their sins.
   • Below is a sample prayer one could lead them in.
3. If they prayed to receive Christ, ask them if you could have their name, phone and email address so that you and the church could continue to pray and follow up with them (a form is attached).
4. Connect them with someone in the church or who in charge of the outreach, so they could have some follow-up.
5. Instruct them in the four action steps to grow in their relationship with God:
   • Read the Bible and obey what it says.
   • Pray in conversational prayer with God as if you were speaking to a friend.
   • Attend a church that believes in the Trinity, teaches the Bible, and has Bible study.
   • Hang out with people who love God. This is what the Bible calls “fellowship.”

Simple Salvation Prayer…. it is as easy as saying ABC backwards:

C – We need to confess that we are sinners, and ask Jesus to forgive us of our sins. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” We all have broken some of the 10 commandments, and deserve eternal damnation (Rom. 6:23). Confessing our sin to God is telling him something he already knows.

B – We need to believe that Jesus, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world, willingly went to the cross. He was crucified for our sins, rose from the dead, and is God the Son in the Holy Trinity and the only one who could take away our sins. 

 A – Ask Jesus to come into our lives and cleanse us of sins.     

Explain when we pray the three steps with sincerity, the Bible says we become children of God, and have a place in heaven. Below is a sample prayer (as you read this think of the C, B, A above):

Dear Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner. I believe that you are the Lamb of God who died and rose again to take away my sins. Please forgive me for my sins. I turn from my sins and turn to you. Please come into my heart, forgive me of my sins, and make me the person you want me to be. In Jesus name I pray. Amen  

Explain that God does not care about the words we speak as much as the attitude of our heart. When one is sincere Jesus comes into hearts, cleanses sins, and makes them a place in heaven. Follow-up is important, for only God knows those who are sincere, and all need Christian fellowship and guidance. often without instruction

Para el personal de oración de logística

1. Cuando vaya a iglesias o sitios de instalación para la extensión, comuníquese con el pastor, misionero o líder y pregúntele dónde está el equipo de oración.

2. Si no tienen uno, háganles saber que no estamos allí para brindar ayuda humanitaria, sino para difundir el evangelio, hacer crecer la Iglesia y llevar a la gente a Cristo.

4. Por favor, indique al equipo de oración que NO SE DESAPAREZCA. Esto puede crear un problema cuando no hay nadie presente para orar con la gente.

5. Informar a los médicos dónde se encuentra el equipo de oración.

6. Por último, haga que alguien que hable español con fluidez espere a que el médico y el personal de anteojos terminen con el paciente y llévelos a la estación de oración. (Entrégales el volante Dios tiene una pregunta).

Oración sencilla de salvación…. es tan fácil rezar tres pasos:

Paso 1 – Necesitamos confesar que somos pecadores y pedirle a Jesús que nos perdone nuestros pecados. Romanos 3:23 dice: “Por cuanto todos pecaron y están destituidos de la gloria de Dios”. Todos hemos quebrantado algunos de los 10 mandamientos y merecemos la condenación eterna (Romanos 6:23). Confesar nuestro pecado a Dios es decirle algo que ya sabe.

Paso 2 – Necesitamos creer que Jesús, el Cordero de Dios que quita los pecados del mundo, fue voluntariamente a la cruz. Él fue crucificado por nuestros pecados, resucitó de entre los muertos y es Dios Hijo en la Santísima Trinidad y el único que puede quitar nuestros pecados.

 Paso 3 – Pídele a Jesús que venga a nuestras vidas y nos limpie de pecados.

Explique que cuando oramos los tres pasos con sinceridad, la Biblia dice que nos convertimos en hijos de Dios y tenemos un lugar en el cielo. A continuación se muestra un ejemplo de oración (al leer esto, piense en los tres pasos anteriores):

Querido Jesús, confieso que soy un pecador. Creo que eres el Cordero de Dios que murió y resucitó para quitar mis pecados. Por favor perdóname por mis pecados. Me aparto de mis pecados y recurro a ti. Por favor, entra en mi corazón, perdóname mis pecados y hazme la persona que quieres que sea. En el nombre de Jesús oro. Amén

Explique que a Dios no le importan tanto las palabras que decimos sino la actitud de nuestro corazón. Cuando uno es sincero Jesús entra en los corazones, limpia los pecados y les hace un lugar en el cielo. El seguimiento es importante, porque sólo Dios conoce a quienes son sinceros, y todos necesitan compañerismo y guía cristiana.
